Christmas at the Galt House Hotel 2011 raised $7,700 for Blessings in a Backpack!  We thank you for your generous support of this great cause.

Blessings in a Backpack is a unique program designed to feed elementary school children on the weekends throughout the school year.  The $7,700 donation from Christmas at the Galt House will feed the 100 children in the program at Portland Elementary School for an entire year.  These children qualify for the federal Free and Reduced Price meal program, and have little to no food on the weekend.  The backpacks include easy-to-prepare, ready-to-eat meals like granola bars, juice boxes, macaroni and cheese and oatmeal. 

This donation comes at a time when Blessings in a Backpack faces a huge demand of families facing tough economic times.  Galt House Hotel is proud to help feed children in our community by partnering with Blessings in a Backpack.
